ELD Performance 'Verba' 10.5" .223 Wylde, Carbine Gas, 1:8T, Medium Profile, 4150 CrMoV, Nitride

General Barrel Info: The Barrel on an AR-15 pistol operates through a 'gas impingement' system, where gas is tapped off from the barrel and cycled back through a connected gas system, to help the bolt carrier in unlocking, and extracting a spent cartridge. Pistol length AR-15 barrels come in two gas lengths, Pistol, Carbine, & Mid-Length. AR-15 Pistol barrels can be chambered in a variety of different calibers, spanning from rifle to pistol cartridges. Thanks to the modularity of the AR-15 platform, your next pistol will be incredibly easy.

About This Barrel: The Barrel is made by ELD Performance it is 10.5" long, and is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium and finished in a nitride appearance. Chambered for .223 Wylde, using a medium profile design, this barrel will fit your next AR-15 build perfectly.

About the Profile: Medium - Medium Profile barrels are designed to have an even weight distributed from the beginning to the end of the barrel, this results in a rather tubular looking appearance but with identical rigidity and properties to a government profile barrel.

Barrel Classification: Pistol

Length: This Barrel is designated as a pistol length barrel with an overall length of 10.5".

Caliber: .223Wylde - This barrel is chambered to fire both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO, the most commonly used round designed for the AR-15 platform. .223 Wylde is a commercial specification of 5.56 NATO and will still allow you to chamber and fire 5.56 NATO cartridges.

Material: 4150 CrMoV - Chrome-Moly Vanadium, or simply "CMV", is the official mil-spec gun steel developed by Colt Firearms for the military-issued M16 and M4. It contains the same elements as 4150 steel. It also contains Vanadium. Vanadium significantly increases the strength, hardness, and high-temperature stability of the steel.

Finish: Nitride - Nitriding is a process during manufacturing that diffuses nitrogen into the steel to make a case-hardened surface for improved resistance and strength. A Nitrided barrel typically has a gloss black texture.

Thread Pitch: 1/2x28 - This threading is commonly found on barrels chambered in 5.56, .223, and .224. This will allow the installation of most muzzle devices such as flash hiders, blast cans, and compensators threaded to 1/2x28 threads.

Gas Block

The Gas Block on your AR-15 / AR-10 style rifle is an integral part of the gas system that allows your rifle to cycle. By tapping off gas from the barrel and diverting it back into the gas key of the bolt carrier group, there is enough inertial force to unlock the bolt carrier, send it rearward to the recoil assembly, and extract and pickup another cartridge to fire.

About this Gas Block: This gas block is machined with a .750 Gas Block Journal. .750 Gas Block Journals are standard for AR-15 barrels chambered in .223 Remington, 5.56 NATO, and .300 Blackout. This Gas Block Journal is known for its reliability it assists the rifle function in regular and adverse conditions. This gas block has a 'low-profile' design and is made to fit underneath a free-float handguard.

Gas Block Journal Size: This gas block is an average .750 size gas block.

Platform: This gas block will work on both AR-15 and AR-10 barrels, for .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrels, be mindful of possible tolerance issues in the barrel profile.

Profile: This Gas Block is 'low-profile' and designed to fit underneath freefloat handguards.

Finish: Phosphate - This gas block uses a phosphate finish, making it have improved rust and corrosion resistance. Phosphate finishes typically make the part have a matte finish.

Attachment Style: Slide On - This gas block has a fixed size and must slide on from the front of the rifle and is secured in place with 2 set screws near the bottom.

Material: Steel - This gas block is made from hardened & tempered steel, providing the strength and rigidity to withstand forces of expanding gasses and vibration from the rifle or pistol under operation.

DISCLAIMER: **Before purchasing, please be mindful of possible tolerance differences resulting from your handguard profile, barrel profile, gas length, and barrel Gas Block Journal.**

1/2x28" .556 Nitrided Compact Compensator

There are three main types of muzzle devices for your weapon: flash suppressors/flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and compensators. AR-15s are getting more and more popular every day, partially due to their low recoil and muzzle rise. But with a good muzzle brake, recoil can be reduced even more. With a good compensator, muzzle rise significantly drops, almost vanishing. And while muzzle flash cannot be eliminated, it can be significantly reduced with a quality flash hider. These muzzle devices are growing increasingly more popular due to how easy they are to put on, 5-10 minutes with the right tool, because of their incredible efficiency, and because they make a cool looking gun.

About This Muzzle Device: Muzzle Brake - A muzzle brake is designed to reduce the amount of recoil you feel when you fire your weapon. A muzzle brake has slots or holes called ports cut into the sides of the device that allows the escaping gases to move in a way that helps to reduce the recoil felt. A quality muzzle brake can significantly lower the felt recoil in your weapon. Which is one of many reasons why gun owners make this device a key part of their collections.

Threading: 1/2x28 Is a common thread type for muzzle devices made for .22 caliber projectiles, commonly found on AR-15 barrels chambered in .223 Wylde, 5.56 NATO, and including .224 Valkyrie.

Finish: Nitride - Nitriding is a process during manufacturing that diffuses nitrogen into the steel to make a case-hardened surface for improved resistance and strength. A Nitrided barrel typically has a gloss black texture.

Chambers: This Muzzle Brake has 3 chambers to catch the expanding gasses and divert them to the sides of the shooter, reducing recoil and increasing controllability.

Ports: This Muzzle Device has 3 ports to compensate for the felt recoil and reduce muzzle climb by pushing the barrel back down, making the shooting experience feel flat without jumping off target.

Handguard

The handguard is an essential piece to any AR-15 custom build. Some of the most popular types of handguards are the freefloat handguards. These types of handguards cover the barrel of the gun and attach to the upper receiver by a barrel nut. Handguards on an AR-15 build perform many crucial functions. One of these functions is that of protecting the shooter's hand from the heat of the barrel. The handguard also provides something to hold on to which gives increased stability to the shooter. Each handguard comes with attachment points for sights/optics while still saving space for additional accessories to be attached which can add to the aesthetic appeal of the build.

It is recommended that handguards cover completely the gas system of the AR-15 so when shopping for a handguard please keep in mind your gas system length. Please visit our AR-15 & LR-308 Upper Build Kits page if you want to purchase one of our pre-designed upper build kits equipped with a handguard.
