The Ronin Competition Upper Build Kit from Davidson Defense is a 10mm Auto AR-15 upper assembly built around a 10.5-inch M4-contour barrel operating on a blowback system. The kit includes the upper receiver, barrel, and handguard. The bolt carrier group and charging handle are not included.

Barrel and Upper Receiver

The barrel runs 10.5 inches in 10mm Auto with a 1-in-16 twist rate, M4-contour profile, and 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium construction with a Parkerized finish. The system is blowback operated. The upper receiver is 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type 3 Class 2 hardcoat anodized finish. Thread pitch is 9-in-16x24, and the kit includes a 10mm and .40 S&W compatible A2 Birdcage muzzle device in manganese phosphate finish.

Handguard

The 10-inch freefloat M-Lok handguard is 6061-T6 aluminum with a black anodized finish. The freefloat profile provides a clean forend with M-Lok interface for accessory placement along the rail. At 10 inches, the handguard length exceeds the 10.5-inch barrel, so the barrel does not protrude past the handguard, with the muzzle device providing clearance forward of the handguard end.
