One of the best ways to personalize any custom AR-15 build is by choosing your handguard. In today's market, freefloat handguards have definitely become the most popular. Freefloat handguards are made to cover the barrel and are securely connected to the upper receiver using a steel or aluminum barrel nut. Your handguard accomplishes an array of functional applications in an AR-15 build kit including protecting the shooter's hand from the hot barrel, offering the shooter plenty of space to hold the weapon for maximum control while firing, serving as the installation point for sights/optics, providing additional space for other accessories attached, and also, helping create the aesthetic that you want for your build. It is recommended that your handguard completely cover the gas system of the AR-15, so please take your gas system length into account when choosing a handguard. About this Handguard: The Ultra Light Honeycomb handguard by Guntec features a lightweight slim profile for easier welding in the field. The Ultra Light Honeycomb handguard also includes an M-Lok rail system for easy installation of extra hardware.
Cuts: The Honeycomb Handguard by Guntec has honeycomb shapes machined for easier grip and a lighter overall weight design for your build.
Material of Handguard: This Guntec AR-15 Freefloat Handguard has a T3 Hard Coat Anodization and is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum.
Made in USA: All Guntec handguards are precision CNC machined in Scottsdale, Arizona in the USA.
Type of Top Rail: This Ultra Light Honeycomb Handguard is CNC machined with a Picatinny rail across the top of the entire handguard.
Finish: Type 3 hardcoat red anodizing is used with this Guntec handguard to increase corrosion resistance.
