The left-hand ejection configuration provides ejection of spent casings to the left side of the rifle, accommodating left-handed shooters who shoulder the rifle on the left shoulder. The extractor is oriented for left-hand ejection rather than standard right-hand ejection found in conventional AR-15 bolt carrier groups. This configuration prevents brass ejection across the shooter's face for left-handed operation.
