Upper Receiver and Handguard

The Cobalt Kinetics billet upper receiver is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with an anodized finish and a Mil-Spec compatible pattern, with a Picatinny top rail running along the top of the receiver for optics and accessory mounting. The forward assist with roll pin is built into the receiver body, and the dust door covers the ejection port when not in use. The defining feature of this receiver is the proprietary ambidextrous rear actuated bolt release, a Cobalt Kinetics specific design that integrates the bolt release function into the rear of the upper receiver body, allowing the shooter to release the bolt from either side without reaching to the standard bolt catch position on the lower receiver. The proprietary M-LOK handguard is included and is matched to the Cobalt Kinetics upper receiver attachment system. The handguard does not accept anti-rotation tabs, a design characteristic of the proprietary Cobalt Kinetics handguard interface.
