Durable black matte finish hard coat anodized without the insane high cost Gauntlet Arms Black Diamond Series are some of the lightest weight handguards on the market where they use military grade 6061 T6 aluminum for the handguard. 7079 T6 Aluminum barrel nut is as tough as steel but 60% lighter age heat treated like most steels. 7079 can be hardened and retain the temper and strength even under high heat situations making this handguard one of the lightest yet strongest handgaurds on the market.
