Upper Receivers mount and house the barrel, handguard, and gas system in an AR-15 or LR-308/AR-10. Mil-Spec upper receivers are made to 'Military Specification' and are meant to either match or exceed the military requirements imposed onto the design for its service rifles. Mil-Spec Enhanced upper receivers feature all of the qualities of a 'Mil-Spec' upper receiver and incorporate various minor cosmetic, and design changes, externally, while retaining all of the features and functionality of a standard Mil-Spec upper receiver.
About this Upper: This upper AR-15 receiver features a standard 'Mil-Spec' design made out of Billet 7075-T6 Aircraft Grade Aluminum. With a Standard rifle cartridge size ejection door. Made by Mountain Valley Machine, the AR-15 Stripped Billet Upper Receiver is precision CNC machined. The flat-top A3 design is great for adding your own optics for further customization. Made in Logan, UT.
Material: 7075-T6 Aluminum - 7075-T6 Aluminum is a high-strength alloy metal with great ductility, toughness, and resistance against fatigue. 7075-T6 was standardized for use in Aerospace equipment and aircraft. The Suffix T6 is a temperament treatment to increase the overall toughness and strength of the Aluminum. 7075-T6 Aluminum was chosen for the AR-15 platform for its ease of manufacturing, lightweight properties, and strength.
Style: Mil-Spec Enhanced - Mil-Spec Enhanced is a further modification of standardized Mil-Spec parts, this would mean that the specific part meets the essential technical requirements for the US Military, but has been modified for commercial use.
Finish: Anodized - This upper receiver is anodized, this process increases the thickness and hardness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of the metal parts. This increases the corrosion and wear resistance of the Upper Receiver.
Caliber Compatibility: This upper receiver will work with standard rifle cartridges such as .223 Remington, 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39, 9mm Luger, and .350 Legend. This will also work with 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbines.
Top Section: Flat Top Rail - This upper receiver features a full 1913 Picatinny rail for the additional Optics installation and Iron Sight installation.
Anti-Rotation Tab Compatibility: This upper receiver will NOT allow the installation of handguards with anti-rotation tabs incorporated into their design.
