This Davidson Defense Afterhours full build kit pairs an 8.3 inch barrel with a blowback pistol caliber system for compact reliability in 9MM. The upper receiver is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with M4 feed ramps and anodized for strength and durability. The 7 inch M-Lok handguard stops just short of the muzzle device and gives you attachment points across three sides while keeping the top rail open. The barrel is made from 4140 gun steel with a nitride finish and comes threaded at 1/2x36 TPI with a standard A2 birdcage flash hider already mounted. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes common 9MM projectile weights from 115 to 147 grains. This full build kit includes a nitride finished 9MM bolt carrier group compatible with Glock and Colt magazines, mil-spec charging handle, Magpul BTR pistol stabilizing brace, heavy duty pistol buffer tube, buffer, recoil spring, castle nut, end plate, and lower parts kit. Lower receiver not included.
The upper receiver is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum rather than the more common 6061-T6 alloy. The 7075 alloy offers higher tensile strength and better resistance to wear under stress, which makes it well suited for the blowback operation typical of AR-9 platforms. The M4 feed ramps are integrated into the upper receiver to guide cartridges smoothly from the magazine into the chamber. The anodized finish resists corrosion and provides a hard surface that holds up to repeated cycling.
An 8.3 inch barrel provides enough length for 9MM to reach functional velocities while keeping the overall package compact. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes bullets from 115 grain FMJ training rounds up to 147 grain subsonic loads without overstabilizing lighter projectiles. The nitride finish on the 4140 gun steel adds surface hardness and corrosion resistance while reducing friction during firing. The medium profile balances weight and rigidity for a pistol caliber setup.
The Magpul BTR pistol stabilizing brace features a minimalist design with adjustable length of pull and comb height. The brace attaches to the included heavy duty pistol buffer tube and uses a locking mechanism to secure each adjustment position. This full build kit includes everything except the lower receiver. The lower parts kit covers the trigger group, magazine release, bolt catch, safety selector, and all associated pins and springs needed to complete a functional lower. The 9MM bolt carrier group is made from 8620 alloy steel with a nitride finish for hardness and corrosion resistance. This BCG uses a blowback system and is compatible with both Glock pattern and Colt pattern magazines. The mil-spec charging handle completes the upper assembly. The M-Lok handguard keeps the barrel freefloated while giving you mounting options for lights, grips, or other accessories.
Follow safe handling and manufacturer instructions. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws. Lower receiver not included. Verify compatibility with your lower receiver and other components before assembly.
