The Davidson Defense Aegis Lightweight is an AR-15 upper build kit chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 10.5-inch government profile barrel. The kit includes the upper receiver, barrel, handguard, and GI birdcage flash hider. A BCG and charging handle are not included.
The 10.5-inch government profile barrel is 4150 CrMoV steel with a phosphate finish and a 1:7 twist rate. The muzzle is threaded at 1-in-2x28 and pairs with the included GI birdcage flash hider in manganese phosphate finish. The carbine-length gas system uses a .750 O.D. micro low-profile gas block in steel, positioned beneath the handguard.
The upper receiver is 7075-T6 aluminum with M4 feed ramps and an anodized finish. The freefloat M-Lok handguard is 6061-T6 aluminum in black, providing a clean forend with M-Lok accessory slots along its surface. The handguard length matches the 10.5-inch barrel, with the muzzle device providing clearance beyond the handguard.
