Slings may not be the first thing you think of when you think about your AR and what you want it to have, however, there is little reason not to get one. They are relatively inexpensive, very useful when you need them, and take up little space. We realized they may not be the first thing on your mind, so we have put a sling in with some other items so you can save money and have your sling too.
The main basic types of slings are one-point, two-point, and three-point. The one-point sling is just a loop attached to the gun. This design allows quick access with a wide range of motion while in use. The two-point sling has been around for centuries. It allows for ease of access, as well as providing a stable shooting platform. The three-point sling has many of the same qualities as the two-point sling but with more options and it excels at securing the rifle.
For one point slings the Omega Mfg. Black Single Point Bungee Rifle Sling is a great choice. It's inexpensive and looks and functions great. The VISM Deluxe Single Point Sling is a great looking sling with a convenient clip and comes in at least a couple of colors. There are 1 or 2 point slings like the VISM 2 Point or 1 Point Sling w/Metal Spring Clips. This is a versatile sling that allows you to play around with different setups.
A 2 point sling that works is the Quick-Adjust Two Point Sling with Integral QD Swivels. A great sling for the price. The 3 point tactical combat sling with HK clips is a great sling at a great value. If you want to try the 3 point sling thing out, give this one a shot. It won't cost you much.
A sling is one of those things that can be good to have even if you just shove it in your gun bag just in case. Slings are great for carrying your rifle and can even help your aim by steadying it. If you need it out of the way, just attach it. It's better to have and not need...
