Trailhead 12.5-inch .308 Winchester AR-10 Upper Build Kit

The Trailhead is built around a 12.5-inch Bear Creek SOCOM barrel chambered in .308 Winchester, finished in Parkerized. It's paired with an LR-308 billet upper receiver machined to the DPMS low-profile pattern. It pairs a 15-inch "Friz" LR-308 M-LOK handguard with a muzzle-mounted fake can at the muzzle, running on a pistol-length gas system. BCG and charging handle are not included, leaving the buyer to supply those components separately.

Barrel and Gas System

The Bear Creek SOCOM barrel runs 12.5 inches long, chambered in .308 Winchester and built from 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a Parkerized finish. It carries a 1:10 twist rate and a 5/8x24 muzzle thread. Gas cycles back to the action through a pistol-length system, running a pistol-length gas tube and a standard low-profile adjustable gas block machined from steel with a Melonite finish, sized to an .875-inch journal.

Upper Receiver and Handguard

The upper receiver is a billet unit built to the DPMS low-profile pattern, finished in Type III hardcoat black anodizing and machined without a forward assist. The ejection port door ships assembled. Over the barrel sits a 15-inch "Friz" LR-308 handguard in a DPMS low-profile design, using an M-LOK attachment system with a full-length Picatinny rail running along its top.

Muzzle Device

Capping the muzzle is a muzzle-mounted fake can chambered for .308, threaded to match the barrel's 5/8x24 pattern, giving the build a suppressor-style appearance without functioning as one.
