General Barrel Info: The barrel on a 9mm AR-15 barrel operates under 'direct blowback' there is no gas system directly connected to a 9mm AR-15 barrel for the system to cycle. By design 9mm AR-15 barrels are affordable and come in many sizes, rifle, and pistol. This includes many of the familiar barrel profiles found on standard/common AR-15 platforms. Building an AR-15 chambered in 9mm is a great choice for training, or for your next Pistol Caliber Carbine build.
About This Barrel: The Barrel is made by KAK Industries it is 4" long, and is machined from 4150 CrMoV and finished in a Nitride appearance. Chambered for 9mm Luger, using a Sllim design, this barrel will be a perfect choice for your next AR-15 PCC.
About the Profile: Pencil/Slim- Pencil/Slim Profile barrels are designed to reduce the weight on the front of the rifle significantly, by removing as much material as necessary to retain a structurally sound barrel. Pencil barrels are a perfect choice in your next weight-saving build!

Material: 4150 CrMoV - Chrome-Moly Vanadium, or simply "CMV", is the official mil-spec gun steel developed by Colt Firearms for the military-issued M16 and M4. It contains the same elements as 4150 steel. It also contains Vanadium. Vanadium significantly increases the strength, hardness, and high-temperature stability of the steel.
Finish: Nitride - Nitriding is a process during manufacturing that diffuses nitrogen into the steel to make a case-hardened surface for improved resistance and strength. A Nitrided barrel typically has a gloss black texture.
Thread Pitch: 1/2x36 - Commonly found on barrels threaded for 9mm, this will allow for 9mm muzzle devices on your AR-15 platform.
