Gauntlet Arms "Spandrel" 16" .450 Bushmaster, Carbine Gas, 1:24T, HBAR, Phosphate, .936 Gas Block Barrel

General Barrel Info: The barrel on an AR-15 originally operates under a 'gas impingement' system, by tapping gas off of the barrel and cycling it back through the gas system to assist the bolt carrier in unlocking and extracting the spent cartridge. AR-15 Barrels come in four different specifications for gas systems, Pistol, Carbine, Mid-Length, and Rifle. AR-15 Barrels vary between profiles as well from Government, to Heavy, and Slim. Thanks to the modularity of AR-15, you can choose different calibers starting with the barrel, each with its specific twist rates. Choosing your barrel for your next AR-15 build has never been easier.

About This Barrel: .450 Bushmaster is the caliber of choice for many hunters, as hog hunters trust in the lethality and stopping power of the .450. The Heavy Barrel profile will help tame the powerful .450 Bushmaster cartridge alongside a carbine length gas system to reduce the felt recoil toward the shooter. Finished in a military standard manganese phosphate, this 16" .450 Bushmaster barrel will be a great choice for your next big-bore AR-15 build.

About the Profile: H-Bar - A heavy barrel adds a lot of weight to the rifle but a rifle thus equipped is more accurate than a rifle with a normal barrel because a heavy barrel heats up much more slowly than a normal barrel. With more material added, a heavy barrel by design is structurally stronger and more accurate.

Barrel Classification: Rifle

Length: This Barrel is designated as a rifle barrel with an overall 16" length.

Caliber: .450BM - This barrel is chambered for .450 Bushmaster, a big-bore hunting cartridge with the goal of providing one-shot kills at long range. .450 Bushmaster runs reliably in the AR-15 platform when paired with other correct components.

Material: 4150 CrMoV - Chrome-Moly Vanadium, or simply "CMV", is the official mil-spec gun steel developed by Colt Firearms for the military-issued M16 and M4. It contains the same elements as 4150 steel. It also contains Vanadium. Vanadium significantly increases the strength, hardness, and high-temperature stability of the steel.

Finish: Phosphate - Manganese Phosphate finishes are used on barrels to protect against corrosion and wear. Manganese Phosphate finished is considered for its toughness, and is used in multiple different applications such as aerospace, ordnance, and other firearms-related parts.

Thread Pitch: 5/8x32 - Common on .450 Bushmaster and .458SOCOM barrels this threading will allow the addition of blast cans, flash hiders, compensators, and other muzzle devices.
