One of the best ways to personalize any custom LR-308 build is by choosing your handguard. In today's market, freefloat handguards have definitely become the most popular. Freefloat handguards are made to cover the barrel and are securely connected to the upper receiver using a steel or aluminum barrel nut. Your handguard accomplishes an array of functional applications in an LR-308 build kit including protecting the shooter's hand from the hot barrel, offering the shooter plenty of space to hold the weapon for maximum control while firing, serving as the installation point for sights/optics, providing additional space for other accessories attached, and also, helping create the aesthetic that you want for your build.

It is recommended that your handguard completely cover the gas system of the LR-308, so please take your gas system length into account when choosing a handguard. About This Handguard: The 19" Low Profile M-Lok Freefloat Handguard from Gauntlet Arms features an M-Lok rail mounting system and partial top rail for easy modern hand-over bore rifle grips.
QD: Without needing to purchase extra accessories and mounting points for slings the Gauntlet Arms handguard comes with 4 QD mounting points for quick attach and detach of slings.
Quad Rail: The Gauntlet Arms Handguard features a 2" section of quad-rail at the end for simple attachment of Lights, Laser Systems, & Bipods.
Cuts: Slim - This 19" Low Profile M-Lok Freefloat Handguard from Gauntlet Arms Handguard is designed with large filet shapes cut into the handguard. This method not only improves the aesthetic of the handguard but keeps it lightweight without affecting the strength or function of the handguard.
Finish: To maintain corrosion resistance the "Crest Series" handguard is treated with a Type 3 hardcoat anodizing in black.
Material Of Handguard: The "Crest Series" 19" Low Profile Free Float Handguard is precision CNC machined from a high-quality 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum billet.
