You may have heard of Anti-Walk Pins. They seem to have come about because someone looked at the original hammer and trigger pins and thought: ”These look pretty unreliable.” You may already know why someone would think that, especially if you’ve seen them. They are roll pins, which are basically a small piece of metal, folded on itself, and that’s it. It relies on friction to retain its position, and it actually works pretty well, though there may be some exceptions. It may be the reliance on friction alone that started the whole Anti-Walk Pins thing so that you could have pins that were secured by more than just the mechanics of roll pins. There are also Anti-Rotation, Anti-Walk Pins, and these have a bar that attaches the two pins so they also cannot rotate, securing them in place. For those who really want Pins that won’t walk, or another way to say that is it won’t move, this is the way to go. Some say that you need to have them so that you don’t enlarge the holes in your Lower Reciever that hold the essential trigger. Others say that this is overkill and the regular pins do their job just fine without issues. This issue is no doubt experienced by people who are frequently removing and reinstalling their triggers for whatever reason. One thing is certain though, a lot of these Anti-Walk Pins look good, and are not too expensive. So getting an Anti-Walk Pin just to give your rifle a little extra bling is still a great reason to get them.
